The ECVET NCP for England conducted a series of study visits to learn more about ECVET in other Member States.
In March, the ECVET NCP for England met with ECVET experts from Finland. During the visit, representatives of the ECVET NCP for England met with ECVET representatives from the Finnish National Board of Education and vocational training providers from two VET colleges in Finalnd, SEDU and Omnia. Finland has been leading the way on ECVET implementation with its ‘FINECVET’ project, now into its 3rd phase. More Information on the project, including examples of Memoranda of Understanding and Learner Agreements can be found on the project website.
Earlier this year, the ECVET NCP for England went to Austria and the Czech Republic to learn more about how ECVET may fit in with their respective VET systems. Austria has developed a guide on how to utilise ECVET for international partnerships and mobility exchanges between Member States. The Czech Republic is planning on setting up an expert group to explore how ECVET may best fit into the Czech VET system. Both Austria and the Czech Republic have been very active in pilot projects.
