UK NARIC CEO Dr Cloud Bai-Yun is in Bangkok 13-15 March 2018 to speak at the Wilton Park thought leadership event, 'Skills for jobs: maximising potential in Asia'. Thailand's minister for education and other key players from SE Asia and from the UK will be taking part.
Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) is one of seven strategic priorities for educational development in Southeast Asia from 2015 to 2035.
Dr Bai-Yun has contributed to other important skills initiatives in the region, such as the SEA-TVET Consortium.
The region has well developed frameworks for collaboration across the ASEAN countries, and there are opportunities for partnerships with education and training providers from the UK.
Some of the existing UK-Southeast Asia skills development partnerships will be showcased at the event in Bangkok this week.
